Irish Brown Soda Bread
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 Cup Espresso Balsamic Vinegar
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 11.2 oz bottle Guinness Beer
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat over to 424 degrees. Grease loaf pan. Mix all of the dry ingredients in one bowl & set aside. In another bowl mix butter, vanilla, buttermilk and beer. Take beer mixture and pour into dry ingredients. Gently stir until well blended (more of a batter texture). Pour in to a & sprinkle with a handful of oats. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, reduce heat to 400, bake for 30 more minutes. Turn off oven, but keep bread inside. Open the over door and let the bread finish inside for another 20-30 minutes. Once breads is finished, take out of oven and cool completely. Drizzle the Espresso Balsamic on top for a delicious finish!
